The pueblos are thought to be one of the most seasoned constantly possessed groups in United states this has outlined by the Unesco Heritage Site. Taos Pueblo is an individual from the Eight Northern Pueblos, whose individuals talk two variations of the Tanoan dialect. The Taos group is known for being a standout amongst the most private, cryptic, and traditionalist pueblos. A reservation of 95,000 sections of land (384 km²) is connected to the pueblo, and around 4,500 individuals live here the pueblo was built in a setting supported by the Taos Mountains of the Sangre de Cristo Range. The settlement was based on either side of Rio Pueblo de Taos, likewise called Rio Pueblo and Red Willow Creek, a little stream that moves through the center of the pueblo compound. Its headwaters originate from the adjacent mountains.[citation needed]

Taos Pueblo's most unmistakable design highlight is a multi-storied private complex of rosy chestnut adobe, based on either side of the Rio Pueblo. The Pueblo's site states it was presumably constructed somewhere around 1000 and 1450 CE.

The pueblo was assigned a National Historic Landmark on October 9, 1960. In 1992 it was assigned as an UNESCO Heritage Site.
